This position will be part of Development and Alumni Relations division.
The Project Manager/Analyst will include the Project Management and Analyst responsibilities. The PM/Analyst will focus on supporting the implementation of the Slate CRM Advancement enterprise application and transition efforts. The PM/Analyst will work closely with the Development Information Systems staff and department product owners to help define solutions for meeting business process needs. They will coordinate all phases of project life cycles, including requirements definition, business workflow, solution tradeoff evaluation, implementation, integration, testing, and documentation. All aspects of the objective of the division and/or college must be considered when this person responds to provide correct and precise support in forms of data management and representation.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
Serving as Project Analyst:
Work with functional departments to identify business needs/define requirements and outline business workflows
Partner with Development Information Systems to identify potential solutions to meet business needs
Participate in or lead solution evaluation processes to help identify the best (internal or vendor) solution for the department and Carleton
Participate on evaluation teams, and/or lead small to medium evaluation projects
Gather information that will be helpful in prioritizing requests
Managing Projects:
Serve as the project manager for implementation of Slate CRM Advancement, usually with a designated technical lead partner
Provide regular status updates and work towards an established project timeline
Address challenges as they arise in order to make adjustments, when possible, and manage expectations, as needed
Track project work to ensure delivery of assigned tasks that is within scope, within budget, and on-schedule
Supporting a Project Management Culture:
Support the Director in establishing practices that further the ability of the department to perform project work in a more planful and purposeful way
Develop comprehensive strategies and approaches to communicating project status information to the campus community
Assist in creating project procedures and in supporting Development Information Systems and the campus in adopting those new practices
Work with Development Information Systems, ITS colleagues and project team members to identify the best project management practices for Carleton
Supervision Received and Exercised: This position relies on professionalism in making decisions and suggestions that are in the best interest of the Development & Alumni Relations division and Carleton College. Guidance in the objective of the mission at hand is provided from the supervisor and peers, which is followed through in choices and performance.
Education/Experience/Skills:
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree and three or more years of work experience in project management, analysis or related field
Demonstrated commitment to collaborative decision-making
Strength and technical skills sufficient to guide cross-functional teams toward prioritizing among multiple ways to solve functional needs using technology tools
Skills and aptitude to coordinate and track progress for a portfolio of projects
Excellent judgment in complex situations and ability to apply system-oriented thinking
Ability to collaborate effectively in an environment committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Curiosity and ability to consistently acquire new knowledge and skills
Preferred:
Polished interpersonal skills and flexibility while working with faculty and staff
Skill at translating technical jargon to campus stakeholders
Experience with enterprise software environments and/or complex technical evaluations
Ability to guide content experts towards resolution while not being that content expert
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent
Experience in higher education, specifically in the liberal arts setting
Must have the ability to understand and follow written and oral work instructions, operations, safety procedures, and hazardous labels.
