The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) is seeking an Analyst, Financial and Budget. Reporting directly to the Director of Financial Operations, this position will assist in the management of a multi-million-dollar endowment portfolio allocated as student aid. The incumbent will maintain, analyze, adjust, and prepare various master financial spreadsheets and all relevant supporting documents to properly allocate endowment funding. This position is based at the Baltimore campus.

Primary Duties:

• Manage multi-million-dollar endowment portfolio allocated as student aid. Maintain, analyze, and adjust financial data and prepare all relevant supporting documents to properly allocate funding while adhering to the restrictions of donor accounts.
• Download, compile, categorize, and manipulate the financial data using quantitative models and formulas. Prepare and distribute accurate, concise, well-organized, and timely financial reports, presentations, and financial information which may include financial charts, forecasting, and/or budget vs. actual variance analysis.
• Assist with reviewing and analyzing financial accounts and expenditures to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in order to make accurate semi-annual surplus/deficit projections. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial database through consistent and thorough input, maintenance, and review.
• Maintain and monitor budget archives and financial data files that can quickly be accessed and manipulated to generate the needed financial information and reporting which may be presented during monthly financial information meetings organized by the school's Deans.
• Keep management informed of work progress and process improvements.
• Communicate with internal and external units to understand their financial activity, request data or additional information about a particular issue. Discuss anomalies or discrepancies that are observed and assist with the preparation of various internal or external financial data requests.
• Adhere to established University's and Foundations policies, processes, and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or business-related field. Master's degree preferred.

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in financial analysis, management accounting, budgeting, auditing, data management, or data analysis with one (1) year of experience in financial analysis, management accounting, budgeting, or auditing. Prior experience with financial endowment management in an educational environment is preferred.

Certification/Licensure: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Financial Manager (CFM), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred.

Hiring Range: $70,000 - $80,000, commensurate with education and experience.
