Our client has an immediate need for a Lead Data Center Network Engineer, who is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-class data center network solutions
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is a plus
CCMP Data Center Certification is a plus
CCIE Data Center Certification is a plus
7-10 years of experience
Experience in design, implementation, and 24x7 support of complex data center networks across multiple locations
Knowledge of Cisco network equipment including Cisco Nexus 9K/7K/5K/3K/2K series of Data Center switches running NX-OS, Cisco CRS, ASR9K & NCS 55XX devices running IOS-XR, Cisco ISR4K, ASR1K, Catalyst 8300/9400/4500 series of routers/switches running IOS-XE and Arista 7010TX,7060CX2, 7280CR2/3, 7280SR2/3 series of Data Center switches running EOS
Knowledge of Internet Protocols/network/services/technologies such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, SDN, VXLAN, EVPN, Leaf/Spine fabric, etc.
Ability to identify network operational tasks and automate them via Python, Ansible, etc.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of scalable, resilient, and secure data center networks (including spine-leaf architectures, virtualization, and automation)
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to improve performance and efficiency
Serve as the technical lead for network-related projects, including new data center builds, expansions, and migrations
Collaborate with project managers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to deliver solutions on time and within scope
Configure and deploy routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other networking equipment
Automate network provisioning and configuration using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Python scripts
Monitor the health and performance of data center networks using tools like SolarWinds, NetBox, Cisco DNA Center, or similar
Identify bottlenecks, mitigate risks, and troubleshoot network issues quickly and effectively
Implement and enforce network security standards, including segmentation, ACLs, firewalls, and encryption
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, PCI, ISO) and internal policies
Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including topologies, configurations, SOPs, and change logs
Define and promote best practices for network engineering across the organization
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership to network operations teams
Act as an escalation point for complex issues and guide incident resolution efforts
Design and test network failover and disaster recovery procedures
Ensure redundancy and high availability in all network layers
