The Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the USC Keck School of Medicine seeks a Financial Analyst 1 to assist with financial analysis, transactions, and reporting.
This position will report to the departmentâs Director of Finance and Business Operations, and be responsible for tracking the departmentâs finances, managing the balance of accounts, assisting with budget, and taking care of financial transactions on behalf of the department.
This position is a hybrid position and is expected to report to the office roughly 3 times a week, depending on business needs on a week-to-week basis.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Performing regular and ad-hoc reporting, including processing reports and creating and maintaining financial dashboards on a monthly basis
Evaluating and analyzing financial performance across the department, and creating written summaries of current financial standing for leadership
Participating in the department budget process and forecasting future department performance
Assisting in the identification and resolution of business problems
Researching issues and working on solutions
Preparing slide decks and presentations to senior leadership regarding financial performance
Participating in other projects or duties as assigned
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience working at USC
Experience working with Workday Financial
Strong technical and financial aptitudes
1+ years of experience working in a medium-to-large organization, particularly in healthcare or academic settings
Strong skills with Excel, proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and web technologies
Excellent communication, organization, and people skills a plus
This is a fixed-term, full-time, non-exempt position in the Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Compensation is competitive and contingent on experience. This position is initially for a 1-year fixed-term position. At the end of the 1-year term, the candidate in this role may be converted to a permanent, full-time position or renewed for another 1-year term depending on performance and budget availability.

The hourly rate range for this position is $34.03 - $41.90.
