Job Overview
The Lindner College of Business Career Services Center is searching for an Assistant Director of Career Development and Placement.
The Lindner College of Business Career Services Center provides quality career coaching and a broad spectrum of career services to facilitate the particular experiential learning search and post-graduation employment objectives of each individual business student. The Assistant Director of Career Development & Placement is responsible for the development and delivery of comprehensive and innovative career management training and career advising for full-time, part-time, and online business students as well as alumni. In addition, the Assistant Director actively cultivates fruitful employer partnerships through community outreach efforts and tracks/collects employment statistics of college graduates.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule pending department approval.
Essential Functions
Responsible for the development and delivery of comprehensive and innovative career management training and career advising for full-time, part-time, and online business students as well as alumni.
Provide career development services to assigned academic unit(s). Provide coaching for students regarding career development.
Teach career courses on a comprehensive job search to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Develop and implement programs of career exploration and planning, including workshops, seminars, small group sessions.
Work with university counseling services and other student service departments in matters related to career coaching and life planning.
Actively cultivates fruitful employer partnerships through community outreach efforts and tracks/collects employment statistics of college graduates.
Develop and recommend new operating procedures.
Assist in the development of budget requests and written narrative. Answer inquiries regarding policies and programs of the center.
Assist in the development and implementation of systems for staff and program evaluation. Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
Three (3) years of relevant work experience
Additional Qualifications Considered
Master's degree in counseling, business, education, or related field.
Extensive work experience in developing and delivering career management training and career advising services to students in higher education.
Knowledge of current business and recruiting trends.
Knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs of student populations from countries outside the United States.
Knowledge of computerized career center database programs (Handshake), understanding of website development/maintenance.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
