Job Summary The Development Assistant, Endurance Fundraising Program will serve a vital supportive role in helping to achieve the peer to peer fundraising goals set by the Boston Children's Hospital Trust. As part of the Special Events team, the Development Assistant will interact with runners, patient families, donors and vendors to help in their fundraising activities for Boston Children's Hospital.
This position offers a hybrid work schedule with an on-site requirement of six days per month. Some evening and weekend event work also required.
This Development Assistant, Endurance Fundraising Programwill:
Provide general office support including: responding to inquiries and managing department inbox, answering phones, managing and preparing mailings, ordering supplies, booking meetings, booking and acknowledging donations.
Assist in interviewing, selecting, and on-boarding runners who will fundraise for Boston Children's Hospital (as part of teams for the Boston Marathon, NYC Marathon and London Marathon). Also, provide support to Patient Partner families who are matched with runners for inspiration, program volunteers, and hired vendors.
Prepares invoices for the department including payment requisitions for vendors, employee reimbursements and serves as contact to resolve discrepancies. Manage program budgets and reconcile monthly.
Prepare meeting agendas, meeting notes, reports and other documents.
Assist in coordinating logistics for events or meetings including, but not limited to: tracking attendance, securing room space/Zoom line and outside vendors, ordering and packing supplies, creating nametags, and working at the event.
Maintain constituent information in donor database and event tracking database.
Assist supervisor and team with research, outreach, and special projects as needed.
To qualify, you must have:
Minimum of an Associate's Degree and 4 years of fundraising related work experience. Bachelor's degree preferred and would replace the experience requirement
Strong relationship management skills and the ability to connect with donors and other stakeholders to help resolve their issues
Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines
Strong attention to detail skills
Strong team orientation and ability to foster a positive work environment
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint); Ability to work with data and databases
