The Health Care Data Analyst provides high-level professional healthcare claims analytics work related to administrative, eligibility, clinical and financial analysis and reporting; conducts quantitative analyses supporting health care projects and research activities; extensively utilizes database technologies to acquire and transform the data into consistent data formats to power dashboards and reports. Gathers, analyzes, and compiles healthcare and provider data to develop and evaluate healthcare programs and policies. Works as a part of our expert interdisciplinary team that includes researchers, policy analysts, biostatisticians, data scientists, and data visualization specialists who conduct research, evaluation, and policy analysis to support health care and delivery system reform, as well as health services, evaluation, maternal and child health, social determinants of health, access to care, big data analytics, data visualization, and health policy initiatives. The Institute is devoted to transforming health systems through actionable cross-disciplinary and collaborative research. Position is located in Columbia, SC. May be eligible for hybrid work.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Master's Degree in public health, biostatistics, health informatics, environmental science, epidemiology, and 3 years of relevant experience.
Experience with large relational database administration
Demonstrated experience in data management and analysis with administrative data, such as health and/or behavior healthcare claims like Medicaid, Medicare, Veterans Administration, private insurance data or state agency or national datasets
Proficiency in SAS, SAS/Macros and other statistical analytical software programs (Stata, SQL, R, Python)
