Summary Position Reporting to the Director of Inclusive Excellence Education and Development, the Assistant Director provides crucial leadership regarding bias education and response and assist with faculty and staff inclusive excellence education. The position is a full-time 12 month, 40 hours/week in-person position.

General Purpose of Position Reporting to the Director of Inclusive Excellence Education and Development, the Assistant Director for Inclusive Excellence will lead several components of Bias Education initiatives and supports coordinating efforts to advance faculty and staff inclusive excellence education and development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Bias Education and Development
In coordination with the Director of Inclusive Excellence Education and Development, lead Bias-related incident response and education efforts, scheduling and facilitating outreach and fact-finding processes, making referrals, and offering support services and educational resources to reporting and involved persons
Design curriculum, facilitate, and assess Bias Education at Elon workshops addressing anti-bias awareness, prevention, and advocacy skill-building
Collaborate with Inclusive Excellence Leadership Team and other campus partners to coordinate, implement and assess bias reduction efforts and bolster anti-bias education and practices for faculty, staff, and students
Provide and maintain online educational resource library for Elon and the broader community about topics of anti-bias, intersections of identity, inclusion, and equity.
Leadership and Program Development
Recruit, train, and coordinate Process Advocates to assist with bias-related incident response and campus resolution processes
Serve as a member of the Bias Education and Response Team (BERT) and assist with coordinating education and prevention efforts to strategically address bias-related incidents
Serve as a member of the Faculty and Staff Inclusive Excellence Development Network to assist with coordinating and communicating campus-wide inclusive excellence education and development initiatives
Establish and maintain effective communication strategies and collaborative relationships with internal and external campus partners to effectively perform bias education and response processes.
Develop and lead workshops and sessions in response to the Requests for Services offering in the Division of Inclusive Excellence.
Administrative
Work closely with the Director of Inclusive Excellence Education and Development to organize and maintain bias incident reporting records
Assist with collecting, analyzing, and interpreting bias reporting data and creating annual reports reflecting trends and recommendations for services
Assist with monitoring and managing Inclusive Excellence Education and Development website updates
Other related duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree
1-3 years of professional work experience in anti-bias education and/or diversity, equity and inclusion education and programming
Experience with outreach and support of individuals with historically and presently marginalized identities (i.e., BIPOC {Black, Indigenous, People of Color} identity, LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, non-Christian communities, etc.)
Group facilitation skills/experiences
Knowledge of key principles and theories around diversity, equity, and inclusion constructs
Ability to gather, analyze, and assess data to develop educational workshops
Preferred
Masters in education/higher education/student affairs, sociology, counseling, social work, or related fields
Additional experience with bias response or restorative justice practices, or related practices
