Provides management for an education, research &/or operations program/project, recommending goals, assessing feasibility and ongoing performance & providing day-to-day oversight of administrative & operational functions.
The Business Development Coordinator works closely with a small team of experience Business Development staff to manage the activities of the team to sell custom educational programs to corporate clients. The Coordinator is an integral member of the team to track activities, progress of opportunities through the sales process and serving as the center point for the organization to insure that all elements of the client programs are supported by the organization. The role works closely with Finance, Operations, Facilities and our clients on reporting, contracting and developing our feedback evaluations on completely programs.
Specific Responsibilities:
Administration
Manages day to day operations of business development team, including inbound communication, assignment of sales leads.
Responsible for maintaining and updating sales opportunities and development month forecasts, utilizing Salesforce database, Smartsheets and other tools as needed. Supports development of simple client contracts and manages approval and signature process internally and with clients. Prepares ad hoc client invoices and manages invoice approval process with finance department. Coordinates with sales team to schedule client programs
Acts as liaison to Operations Team to provide client information, contracts and schedules.
Budgets & Financial
Participates in annual sales budget preparation and monthly forecasting and reconciliation.
Maintains budget & associated analysis & reports.
Supports finance and sales team on outstanding billing issues. Annually, prepares inputs for external reporting to rankings organizations. Troubleshoots problems; performs vendor/account research as needed; obtains additional information .
Communication, Outreach & Recruitment
Develops coordinated, consistent marketing and brand messages.
Creates state-of-the-art website.
Incorporates social media and networking into program/project aspects as appropriate.
Strengthens partnerships with external resources by defining, promoting and marketing benefits of participation and involvement to the organization.
Creates and nurtures relationships with organizations to develop a network of enthusiastic organizations engaged via active participation in the success of program/project.
Reviews market trends to recommend future plans to increase revenue, participation, engagement, etc.
Collaborates with Program Managers/Operations to prepare summary evaluation reports for all custom programs, including distribution of results to faculty, staff and clients.
Coordinates client meetings to review evaluations and documents feedback.
Human Resources
Supports onboarding of new business development team staff
Minimum Qualifications:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
Five-plus years of work supporting business functions in a fast-paced environement
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
Advanced skills in Excel, Salesforce, simple database management, Word and Powerpoint experience necessary. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with simplifying and managing internal processes.
