Job Summary This Lead Financial Reporting Analyst - Physician's Organization will be responsible to:
Manage and Lead financial and analytical support for Foundations assigned. Serve as point person for assigned projects. Engage with PO management and departments, Foundation leadership, and Hospital to understand requests and to define the scope of work and deliverables. Financial support includes but not limited to the following monthly close activities
Preparation of journal entries, reports, and analyses related to the financial statements, intercompany activity, and other sub-ledger activity and schedules for Foundations. Follow set accounting close cycle and ensures all assigned accounts are reconciled. Adhere to close and financial reporting deadlines
Preparation of in-depth analyses of revenue and expense variances, providing management with explanations for current and prior year changes, variances from budget, and projected future impact
Review and prepare various financial reports for PO and Foundations' monthly closes; quarterly reviews and year-end to include financial statements, metrics, and analyses
Preparation of work papers for all audits of Foundations and PO, including preparing audit analyses and addressing auditor requests and questions.
Perform a variety of accounting-related duties such as bank account reconciliations, proofreading of financial documents, and participating in special projects
Review and prepare tax returns for the Foundations and PO as assigned, meeting deadlines
Lead team members in response to ad-hoc requests. Lead staff accountants - provide oversight, mentoring, and review of staff accountant activities. Keep Controller/Manager apprised of all activities
Lead liaison with Foundation Leadership on all financial reporting and technical accounting matters
Review and submit periodic reports and documents for regulatory agencies and other external organizations as required
Support Foundation management on compilation of annual Foundation budgets. Prepare and review budget to actual analyses
Maintain collaborative team relationships with PO Finance peers and Foundation colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the PO's and Foundations' achievement of goals
Present monthly financial results to PO and Foundation Leadership, including Foundation Executive Administrators, Foundations Chiefs, and Foundation Board members
Maintain all supporting documentation/electronic records in accordance with Dept/Foundation/Hospital standards for review by external auditors which may include journal entries, budget performance reports, detailed trial balance reports, journal entry logs, account reconciliation reports, and various other support general ledger schedules
To qualify, you must have:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Health Care Administration, or a closely related field and 7 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, and analysis in a healthcare setting is required
Expert knowledge of analytics and operational effectiveness
Excellent skills in Microsoft office
Ability to lead PO and Foundation wide strategic analyses efforts
Interest in and the ability to assist in building the technical, data and business analytics skill set of team members and enterprise wide end users
Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor and assist junior staff members
This is a hybrid/remote position
