Individual contributor providing day-to-day administration of programs, and/or perform a variety of administrative and technical duties requiring knowledge of methods and procedures in support of the CSU. Administrative and analytical work relates primarily to operations and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Point of contact and functional lead in the administration of the Time and Labor and Absent Management modules in PeopleSoft, and the Common Human Resource System Project (CHRS) - Perform a variety of administrative, technical and analytical duties of limited to moderate complexity - Analyze and test HCM PeopleSoft releases and upgrades in relation to Time and Labor and Absence Management before changes are moved into production - perform as tester following application patches and tool updates as well as major system upgrades - Alongside the IT PeopleSoft Support Team, analyze test scrips to ensure comprehension - Create and maintain business process guidelines for Absence Management and Time and Labor in order to provide the campus community with proper training documentation - Participates and provides feedback, solutions and recommendations as a CMS HUG team member - Learn, interpret, and apply policies and procedures relating to and impacting PeopleSoft - Conduct regular audits to ensure information in the PeopleSoft and PIMS systems are accurate and in compliance in preparation for the implementation of CHRS (education, gender, birthdate, etc).
- Support wide range of Payroll processing duties, to include: - Updates to personal data information. - Hire and process pay for new hires, rehires, additional employment, special consultant, summer session, students. - Update/issue pay due to promotions, reassignment, reclassifications, leaves, increases due to CBU. - Determine retirement membership status. - Work with FAD and college departments to insure proper processing of temporary faculty contracts and tenure-track appointments. - Document/analyze/generate/reconcile pay for hourly, final settlements, academic adjustments, OT, shift differential, stipends, excess hours, and misc. per FLSA and CBU agreements - Work alongside the Leaves Coordinator to assure accurate processing of pay for employees on leaves, including non-industrial and worker's compensation.
- Provide customer service by responding to general Payroll inquiries including CalPERS eligibility, leave accruals, social security and Medicare taxation, pay periods, holidays, EDD audits/data requests, employment verification and other inquiries related to pay and employment. - Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree AND/OR the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of general practices, program, and/or administrative specialty. Basic knowledge of and ability to apply fundamental concepts. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. - Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the applicable program, organizational unit, and/or administrative specialty. - Knowledge of basic methods and procedures for research and statistical analysis and the ability to apply them. - Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business mathematics and basic statistical techniques. - Ability to organize and plan work and projects including handling multiple priorities. - Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment. - Ability to compile, write, and present reports related to program or administrative specialty. - Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group and serve as a liaison for the organizational unit.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years Human Resources and/or Payroll experience - Hands-on experience with and thorough understanding of various PeopleSoft modules
Compensation and Benefits:
Anticipated Hiring Range: minimum $3,879 - maximum $5,561 monthly.
Classification Salary Range: $3,879 - $7,488 per month.
The salary offered will take into account internal equity and experience among other factors.

Academic year schedule: Monday through Friday (8:00 am - 5:00 pm), some evenings/weekends.
Summer schedule: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm), some evenings/weekends.
