Job Overview

Engagement data generated from the many volunteer programs and strategic interactions facilitated by the Office of Advancement each year allows GU to strategically target communications with constituents. The Senior CRM Data Analyst, Group Coding plays an essential role within the Office of Advancement in ensuring correct and accurate engagement data is loaded efficiently and on time. This role offers a significant opportunity for professional growth and the development of new skills as Georgetown University continues implementation of an enterprise Salesforce database platform.

Working in a team with other Records Analysts and Managers, the Senior CRM Data Analyst helps to ensure data integrity and accuracy are maintained for a database of more than 200,000 living alumni and over 720,000 total constituent records. As well, they build relationships with colleagues and teams throughout OA and Georgetown in order to understand and effectively manage a wide array of constituent engagement data.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Meets a high standard of accuracy in performing data entry of confidential information drawn from a wide variety of sources on the Office of Advancement GU360 database of alumni, parents, donors and friends of the University
• Codes all non-Signature Event engagement activities and data - such as the Interest, Volunteer Position, Membership, and Campaign objects) into the GU360 Salesforce database
• Uses mass coding tools - such as dataloader.io - to read in and manipulate engagement data from a variety of sources, such as the Group Coding Tool and emails from GU Office of Advancement and university staff.
• Codes data submitted via the Group Coding Tool, manages a ticketing system to track requests, and provides customer service to internal users to ensure standard turnaround times for their requests.
• Manages relationships with various internal clients and Office of Advancement teams to ensure their data is submitted in the correct format and coded in a manner that allows for consistent and easy access and reporting.
• Manipulates data using tools such as advanced formulas in Excel, and uses Salesforce reports to check data integrity and look for errors.
• Maintains responsibility for coordinating team-wide error monitoring and data integrity efforts for the Constituent Records team, including building out complex reports and dashboards.
• Trains students assisting with coding projects and review their work.
• Assists occasionally in testing and implementation of new features in the Salesforce system.

Work Interactions

Reporting the Director of Constituent Records, the Senior CRM Data Analyst, Group Coding has frequent contact with a wide cross-section of Georgetown's Office of Advancement staff regarding their requests, and provides customer service to internal users so that they submit requests in a way that will ensure the data is stored correctly.

As well, they represent the Records team in various meetings with stakeholders; assists other Records team members in running error reports; and ensures high level of data integrity is maintained.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalency
• 4+ years of professional experience in data management - preference for higher education or non-profit setting.
• Ability to display creativity, flexibility, and a willingness to learn
• Excited by data and the challenge of helping a large organization become more data-driven
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Independent and motivated by achieving milestones.
• A self-starter, ready to make an impact in a mission-driven environment
• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and priorities, and consistently meet all deadlines
• Ability to assimilate data, exercise sound judgment and discretion, and work independently
• Ability to assure accuracy in materials preparation, and ability to maintain confidentiality are required.
• Proficiency with advanced formulas or macros in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with creating and running reports in Salesforce or similar data query skills

Other Skills

• Experience with SQL, Microsoft Access, or a similar relational database tool
• Experience with Salesforce platform or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool
• Experienced in customer service and managing sensitive or confidential data
• Must be able to work with internal and external partners in positive and collaborative interactions
• Experience with JIRA, FreshService or similar ticketing system
