Position Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst will oversee strategic budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for client departments, primarily the Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center. This role involves executing high-level budgetary functions, formulating strategies, and administering policies. Key responsibilities include preparing and organizing budgets, generating routine and ad hoc financial reports, and leading the annual budget process for client departments, including financial analyses and presentations. The analyst will also assist in developing multi-year operational budgets and financial plans, monitor revenue and expense trends, reconcile financial statements, and provide strategic guidance to leadership on budgetary issues and long-range planning. This role will also serve as Subject Matter Expert for Student Affairs in the areas of Medical insurance Plan Income and Analysis, student health fees, and student mental health funds.

3-5+ Years experience working with complex budgets and forecasting. (Required)
Advanced knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, planning, and preparation of multi-million-dollar budget. In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices. (Required)
Strong knowledge of UCLA policies and procedures particularly in the areas of finance and budget, funding, personnel and payroll, purchasing, contract and grants, gifts, and auditing. (Preferred)
In depth ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data and to engage in both short term and long-term planning including determining future budgetary needs on the analysis of historical trends. Ability to do research, identify trends and forecast needs. (Required)
Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks, to establish priorities and re-establish priorities as changing circumstances and meeting simultaneous deadline. (Required)
Demonstrated skills in working with a high level of autonomy and using independent judgment to identify and solve existing or potential problems. (Required)
Advanced written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner. Ability to produce and deliver presentations to diverse audiences at all levels through the use of PowerPoint as well as other analytical reporting tools. (Required)
Experience with project management, process improvement methods, business process mapping, and optimizing efficiencies. (Required)
Excellent computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and advanced knowledge of Excel. (Required)
Advanced knowledge of insurance billing and reimbursement. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret policy/procedures related to medical insurance plan and the financial impact. (Required)

Bachelor's degree in business or related area and/or equivalent experience/training. (Required)
