Position Overview:
The Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Analyst/Specialist is a mid-level position that supports the HRIS Manager by performing a variety of professional level duties. Duties include but are not limited to: query writing, report building (inclusive of dashboards), data analytics and validation, workflow analytics for process improvements; system testing, user training and communications, position management and electronic timesheet/leave management. This position is accountable for ensuring continuity and successful delivery of functional services to internal and external customers.

Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Information Analysis and Reporting.
Review and analyze HR data structures, integration touch points, as well as serve as the functional reviewer of critical internal and external source files for submission as mandated by federal, state, and local government in addition to the University System of Maryland (USM).
Build complex statistical, analytical and audit reports via PeopleSoft (PS) Query, Report Exchange (REX), Excel, and other reporting tools to assist in identifying and monitoring work flow trends, training needs, system enhancements, process changes and data integrity issues.
Testing and Automation.
Develop test plans and timelines for HR production system bundles, upgrades and project-related tasks.
Assist with the planning, designing and testing of manual processes and work flows to an automated platform such as DocuSign.
Electronic Time sheet (ETS) and Leave Management
Process and audit employees’ time and leave information in accordance with the University and Board of Regents’ policies and procedures.
Identify, effectively communicate and resolve issues with department liaisons accordingly.
Assess, coordinate and conduct campus training.
Position Management
Evaluate departmental requests for new positions and changes to existing positions. Approve and process requests based on departmental needs the need and communicate appropriately.
Conduct training for department liaisons as well as develop training resources and materials.
Other
Provide assistance to the HRIS Unit as required by the HRIS Manager.
Serve as the backup resource for the HRIS Manager.
Perform other related duties as required.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferably in Information Systems, Human Resources or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources and data or statistical reporting or related area
Demonstrated related or similar experience in analysis and data management
Experience in using advanced Excel or spreadsheets (formulas, pivot tables, and v-lookups) and creating visual dashboards
Detailed oriented
Proficient and effective organizational, verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:

Tableau Experience
Higher Education Experience
