About the Department The Michigan Ross Office of Advancement facilitates meaningful, external involvement among a variety of the school’s stakeholders and mobilizing private, voluntary support from external constituencies in service to the school's foremost priorities. As part of this work, the department organizes and produces events, programs, and opportunities for alumni to remain deeply connected with the life of the school.
Job Summary The Development Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support for the Office of Advancement. This position requires someone who can work with multiple constituents to achieve high-level results. You will report to the Office Manager.
Administrative Support:
Supports the Major Gift Officers in traditional administrative capacity, including calendaring, travel arrangements, processing expense reports, meeting preparation and minutes, financial processes, email and phone correspondence, and report preparation
Help plan and execute special events, such as donor visits and small events
Answer phones, greets and assists visitors, triages and responds to inquiries about Development and Ross programs
Schedule appointments with volunteers, alumni, and staff; prepare meeting materials and reports
Create and maintain organizational systems for information on shared drives and in Google
Responsible for data integrity of databases
Create itineraries and donor briefings
Work as part of a support staff team to provide excellent customer service to visitors, donors, faculty, and staff
Coordinate and balance workload with other team members, provide back-up coverage for other support staff members, and help provide appropriate coverage during absences
Process gift checks
Other:
Use the University donor database (DART) and data warehouse (Business Objects) to confirm donor data, run reports, and modify, update, and upload alumni and donor data
Help with small-scale fundraising campaigns led by Ross School of Business constituents
High school diploma or equivalent or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
3+ years of experience in a support role
Customer service experience
Intermediate to advanced proficiency, speed and accuracy with Word, PowerPoint, Excel. And Google Drive
Salary Information: The general salary range for this position is $43,000 - $48,000. Candidates can expect to be paid a competitive and equitable salary. Factors used to determine salary include experience, knowledge and skills for the position. You are encouraged to discuss salary questions to honor alignment and transparency throughout the recruiting process.
