Columbia Rural Electric Association is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of System Engineer located at the Cooperative’s Walla Walla Service Center.
This position performs complex electrical engineering analysis, design, and studies for the utility infrastructure system and equipment, such as power distribution, substations, transmission and generation systems. The System Engineer will also develop project scope and requirements; coordinate with other agencies or groups; make economic and engineering evaluations, sketch computations, recommend action, evaluate project sites, evaluate environmental impact, test date, procedure and materials. May also perform engineering project management during project implementation. This position requires the provision of specialized skills and knowledge to provide support to the electrician distribution system for the overall planning, design, and functions of the engineering of the Cooperative; and to ensure compliance with CREA construction specifications and applicable codes and regulations.
Applicant is required to possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and should be licensed as a Professional Engineer or have the ability to obtain licensure in Washington State within six months. Applicant should have 3-5 years experience in electric utility engineering with experience in development, maintenance, and implementation of long and short-range work plans and designs for substation, communication, transmission and distribution systems.
