Interns are assigned to one of several participating CRC offices located all across the country, where they work in-person and/or remotely with teams that handle a variety of accounts, from some of the most well-known and innovative Fortune 500 and startup companies in the world, to local businesses and individuals facing complex liability issues related to crowdsourcing, cyber threats, shareholder lawsuits, and emerging employment issues, among many others.
As an intern, your primary responsibilities will include:
Completing all assigned coursework related to the assigned internship
Interviewing each broker in your assigned office to explore the advantages of a career in insurance
Shadowing brokers while attending agent or carrier meetings and participating in business lunches or dinners with brokers and agents to gain insight into what it takes to build strong partnerships and industry relationships
Gaining experience with quoting business, navigating the submission process, negotiating terms and conditions, binding policies, reviewing files for quality assurance, and building knowledge around a variety of coverage lines as well as ISO forms
Near the end of your internship, you’ll also create a presentation titled “Why You Should Hire Me” and present it to your brokerage office, highlighting the skills and expertise you’ve gained that would make you a valuable addition to the CRC team
What We’re Looking For:
Rising college juniors or rising college seniors majoring in Risk Management & Insurance, Sales, Business, Marketing, Finance, or Communications with:
An interest in selling or underwriting insurance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills
Willingness to learn
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects within set deadlines
Willingness to take initiative and follow through to get the job done
Ability to work in a high-energy team environment requiring cross-functional collaboration, adaptability, and resilience
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Authorization to work in the United States
This position will be an in-person internship.
