Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Processing of discharged inpatients' Same Day Surgery, GI Lab and Emergency Room records for completeness in compliance with Los Alamitos Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, state and regulatory agencies standards; ensures that the goals and objectives for record analysis are met and maintained.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

ON-SITE Only - NO Remote

• Two years of acute care experience and knowledge of medical terminology
• Typing skills (for use in computer functions)

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent,
• Current enrollment in an American Health Information Management Association approved medical record technician program, or succesful completion of the program with current licensure
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
