Job Summary: SUNY Brockport is accepting applications for a Career Development and Internship Specialist. This position is responsible for managing all career planning and counseling programs that will support all students, as well as subpopulations such as undecided students and historically underserved students. This position will present outreach programming and workshops to students in classroom settings, residence halls, and student organizations. As a main student-facing resource, this position will be a visible, accessible, and energetic member of the Career Services team. With a strong focus on connecting students with internships and other experiential learning opportunities. The person in this role will report to and assist the Associate Director of Career Services as a liaison between career services, academic advising, new student programs, and faculty advisers.
Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, or related field by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
Professional work experience in an educational environment instructing or advising students, or experience in a business setting performing placement, employment training, or related function.
Ability to work effectively with students, public, college community and external constituencies, with an appreciation for cultural and group differences.
Knowledge of current labor market trends and effective marketing techniques.
Experience in presenting to small public or large group settings.
